Superchicken!

It all started wheN…

(30 Jan ‘24) Some estimates today, say that the Myanmar junta now controls less than 40% of then country. The rest is controlled by various resistance fighters. Estimates are that upwards of several hundreds of thousands of civilians are displaced as a result of fighting.

Circuit is always looking for sustainable solutions to problems like this. Some of the affected areas are where we have projects. I challenged my team to come up with some ways we could sustainably support and encourage those affected. Their answer… Chickens.

Our local partner in Myanmar owns two acres of land, which was donated by generous Kiwis. On this land it is proposed that we start contract farming chickens. Starting with 2000 birds, the team will learn all there is to know about open-barn raising of chickens. This is with the aim of increasing to several thousand birds, and bringing refugee families to come and help us with the project, giving them both a home and income.

We’d like to start asap… but we need your help. Circuit is raising $30,000NZD to construct the buildings and water facilities required to start this project. Would you like to sponsor the Superchicken project? Please go to the DONATE page, and select Superchicken from the dropdown menu. Monthly support is ideal… as are one-off donations!
